Payroll Questions Answered

December 18, 2015 by ces

If you are just getting ready to start using a regular payroll system, there are a few questions you have to answer before you even get started.

employee leasing , payroll services, hr services, vero beachFirst question: How often are you going to issue paychecks to your employees?

Do you wish to pay your employees on a weekly basis, bi-weekly or once per month. By far the most popular choice for many companies is bi-weekly. But we can handle any of your choices.

Second Question: Paying Employee Payroll Taxes

We will take care of that for you. Our programs will calculate how much tax to withdraw from each employee based upon their W9. We will also calculate the amount of taxes you need to post for payroll taxes through the business.

Third Question: Filing Tax Forms
Complete Employee Solutions can take care of that as well. We are equipped to get you the proper information, and as we work closely with local tax accountants, we can post those quarterly and end of the year payments.

Making mistakes on your payroll or posting taxes can cause major problems for you and your company, so take one big item off your to-do list and let us take care of payroll for you.

Do Your Employees Know Their Role in Your Success?

Business colleagues in office, discuss new ideas

Too often businesses don’t have the funds or resources to hire people unless there is a strong need for more workers. The only issue with that situation is we tend to pick people who can hit the ground running. Whether they are ultimately the best fit for our company is another question entirely.

As someone who does payroll work for many different companies, I see time and time again where the owners of a company only want people with experience, and pass over people, who with a little training and care, would ultimately become much better employees and team members.

One of the biggest mistakes employers make is to neglect to in grain in each employee how important their role in the company is. How to best represent the company, and where they can add value, contribute to the  company’s goals and thus make it more successful.

Forbes Magazine posted an article titled ” Ten Things Your Employees Should Know — But They Don’t ” by Liz Ryan. I thought this would be a great excerpt as the end of the year approaches, and we prepare for a new, even more successful year next year.

“How Their Job Supports the Organization’s Goals

When I was a baby  HR person we called this essential element “line of sight.” Every employee on your team needs to know how his or her work fits into the overall organization and its goals, but the vast majority of working people don’t have a clue. They do what they’re told.

That’s a waste of their brain cells and your payroll dollars, not to mention a waste of potential for everyone involved. It’s easy to explain to everybody in your shop how the pieces fit together to make the organization run.

The more altitude your teammates have, the more they can put together solutions to internal and external  problems that you and your managers haven’t even noticed yet.”

We hope you take a moment and think about how to incorporate this practice into your company. And remember, we are here to help with all of your payroll needs!

Before the Holidays

November 19, 2015 by ces

Happy Holidays from Complete Employee Solutions, payroll servicesThey’re coming. The Holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the new year begins. Our county is experiencing a resurgence in construction, and that is feeding other jobs in our area. Companies who were struggling a few years ago are having trouble getting staffed up for the demand. It’s a good problem to have.

If you have been spending too much time working IN your business and not enough time working ON your business, then it could be time for you to hand over your payroll to Complete Employee Solutions. You may also need some help deciding whether it could be more beneficial to lease employees rather than to hire them directly. We can also help with that.

You will want to make certain to put aside funds for your 401k or Ira’s. Take a moment to run a summary of your income and expenses for this past year, and make a tentative budget for next year. Think about where you want to take your business in 2016, and have that plan firmly in mind for the beginning of the new year. Try to keep from doing things that won’t get you to your goal next year.

Most of all, try to keep things as simple as possible for the remainder of this year.

Happy Holidays

Business Advice

November 9, 2015 by ces

Co-owner of Complete Employee Solutions Jennifer ComerI belong to the Sebastian BNI group, and every week when attending the meetings, I have the opportunity to learn something new. Our meetings are entertaining, they are very early in the morning, sigh, but most of all they are a place to recharge and get inspired for the next work week.

As part of BNI we have access to the teaching of BNI and it’s founder, Ivan Misner. This week he had a great post which I would like to share here. The title is :

“Three Essentials for Women in Business

Here are three quick tips especially helpful for a female entrepreneur.

Don’t be afraid to be wrong

Sometimes, we worry that being wrong or having a problem is a sign of a character flaw. Women, particularly, can be susceptible to feeling this way due to societal pressures. When you allow yourself to ignore a problem, or try endlessly to stop a problem from existing (despite the fact that it is very much present), you allow the issue time to manifest. Instead of letting something spiral out of control to save possibly your ego or pride, identify your problem and quickly do something to correct it.

Create a brand that you would want to use

It seems like a no-brainer, but you wouldn’t believe how passion can play into the success of your business. If you ensure that you are creating a brand that not only are you passionate about, but you would want to use, then the chance for burn out diminishes exponentially.

Ask for help when you need it

Research has shown that women frequently feel more hesitant to ask for help if they need it than men do. Why? This ties in with the fear of being wrong. Struggling to handle everything on your own will just ultimately lead you to downward sloping. Don’t allow yourself to fall into the trap.”

While I agree with most of what he has said here, as a woman business owner, and one who has owned several businesses over the years, I actually think most women are more apt to ask for help, and admit an error than some might think. Either way, because of my experience and expertise, I can be a valuable resource to business owners of companies, whether big or small, owned by male or female.

Give us a call, we can help.
